Kahoot!

Kahoot is an online game-based learning platform based on gamification. It allows teachers, organizations and parents to set up fun web-based learning games for others.

As a teacher, you can easily create your own Kahoot game or choose from more than 100 million ready to play ready-to-play games.

It is suitable both for in-class games to make your lesson more interactive and engage students and for distance learning.

This learning platform is free although it also has a “Pro” or “Premium” subscription with many more features.

First, you have to register on the Kahoot’s website:

www.kahoot.com

The games consist of a mix and match questions as follows:

  • Quiz: add multiple-choice questions for any topic and any subject.

  • True/False questions

  • Images and answers

There are two main ways in which you can set up a game which are outlined as follows:

1. Classic Kahoot (host "live"): the organizer sets up a series of questions/trivia and each participant accesses a device (mobile phone, laptop, tablet, etc). Several questions appear on the digital whiteboard or on the class projector. The students have a set time to answer the questions. Everyone plays at the same time.

2. Student challenge: the organizer sets up a series of questions/trivia and each participant plays at home.

Creating Kahoot games is easy and can be done within minutes. It enables you to choose one of our pre-designed templates as the basis, duplicate existing Kahoots, import questions from a spreadsheet, add slices with a classic layout, combine multiple kahoots, search from millions of questions in the Kahoot’s question bank and add drawings or images.
